The mission of Women of Haslam is to provide educational and business networking connections that support, enrich and inspire women to develop professionally and personally. We bring collegiate, academic and community business women together in a variety of networking venues to strengthen the member's knowledge, experiences and resources. Our goal is to introduce women in all professions to the applicable principles of business, entrepreneurship, and leadership
OUR STORY
2019
WOH was founded by Taylor Alexandra Boyer during a study abroad in London, recognizing the need for a space to empower women in business at UTK.
2020 – 2021
First official executive board formed. Hosted early networking nights and professional development events.
2022
Membership growth accelerated, expanding partnerships with alumni and Knoxville business leaders.
2023
Launched mentorship initiatives and larger campus-wide events.
2025
With over 700 members, Women of Haslam continues to thrive with record membership, leadership opportunities, and strong community engagement.
"I thought of the idea for Women of Haslam my sophomore year while studying abroad in London with the Haslam College of Business. I realized UT needed an organization where women from all majors could come together to experience entrepreneurship and leadership in an educational, business-focused environment. No matter our major or future endeavors, we will all be charged at one time or another with business responsibilities. We will face business decisions and will need the discernment to know how best to proceed.
My hope for Women of Haslam is that together we will support, enrich and inspire one another to develop professionally and personally. As our mission states, our goal is to introduce women in all professions to the applicable principles of business, entrepreneurship, and leadership.
The Women of Haslam is here to make a positive impact on our members, the entire UT community, and the greater Knoxville area.
As we grow and move on from UT, my hope is that all of our future communities will be the beneficiaries of what we learn here together."
